Gastronomy in Girona

Bar Sant Narcís

Today we bring you some recommendations to do a tasting of Girona’s gastronomy:

If you want to try tasty meals made with a lot of love, you can’t miss a visit to Can Serrallonga, in Salt. From meatballs with peas and cuttlefish to innovative hamburgers or frankfurts. On the menu they also have the typical Olot potatoes (stuffed with meat) and the not so typical (stuffed with cheese) and they are also very good.

Closer to home, in Plaça de l’Assumpció, we find the Bar Sant Narcís, ideal to have a meeting on the terrace and have some very good tapas such as bravas, squid, croquettes… while enjoying the good atmosphere of the square of our neighborhood. Ah! Don’t forget to order, here too, the Olot potatoes.

As you may already know, the “xuixo” has a very curious story related to the legend of Tarlà. We told you about it here. Well, if you come to Girona you can’t miss a visit to one of the city’s pastry shops where you can find this crunchy sweet filled with cream. It is typical, for example, the Castelló “xuixo”, you can find it in bakeries and patisseries, one that we love and of a very good size is the Oriell bakery on Santa Clara street, next to the stone bridge.

Finally, and now that the good weather is coming, we recommend the Rocambolesc super ice creams, a project by the Roca brothers. You will find them very varied, crisp, original, very colorful and, of course, very good!

Enjoy!
