Some of our guests have shared their stories about everything you can discover around the city.
- The Pyrenees
María and Javier, an adventurous couple from Barcelona, decided to spend a weekend in the Pyrenees after staying at CanCocollona. With their passion for hiking and nature, they set out to explore the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park. On a sunny Saturday, they began a route that took them through unique volcanic landscapes and lush forests. During the hike, they stumbled upon a small mountain cabin where an elderly man with a wise appearance offered them a hot coffee and shared stories about the ancient life in the region. Fascinated by local legends and natural splendor, María and Javier concluded their adventure with a visit to a viewpoint offering a panoramic view of green valleys and snowy peaks. This trip not only allowed them to connect with nature but also with the rich oral tradition of the Pyrenees.

- Costa Brava
Ana and Luis, travelers from Madrid, arrived in Girona with the idea of relaxing by the sea. After staying at CanCocollona, they decided to explore the Costa Brava. In Tossa de Mar, they were greeted by the sea breeze and the impressive view of the medieval castle perched on a rocky promontory. While strolling through the cobbled streets of the old town, they discovered a small shop selling local crafts and unique souvenirs. Later, they headed to Cadaqués, where they met a local painter who told them about the time Salvador Dalí spent in the village. Ana and Luis spent the afternoon enjoying the serenity of hidden coves, where they discovered the magic of the coastal landscape in a tranquil setting, away from the hustle and bustle of more crowded beaches.

- Lake Banyoles
Clara, a photographer from Bilbao, arrived in Girona in search of peace and inspiration. After staying at CanCocollona, she decided to visit Lake Banyoles. Upon arrival, she was amazed by the calm of this lake, which looked like a giant mirror reflecting the blue sky. Clara rented a boat to capture the beauty of the landscape from the water and spent hours in silence, only interrupted by the songs of birds. During her kayak trip, she found the perfect spot for a picnic, enjoying the tranquility and the view of the lake surrounded by nature. The photos she took that day captured not only the splendor of the landscape but also the serenity she had found in this corner of Catalonia.

- Medieval Villages
Luis and Marta, a couple of historians from Valencia, arrived in Girona with the desire to explore the medieval villages of the region. After settling in at CanCocollona, their first destination was Besalú. They were amazed by the Romanesque bridge and the perfectly preserved old town, which seemed to transport them to the Middle Ages. While exploring the cobbled streets, a local guide narrated stories about the ancient inhabitants and traditions of the village. The next day, they visited Pals, where the panoramic views from the watchtower offered a unique perspective of the rice fields and the coast. Every corner and alley of these villages allowed them to immerse themselves in the medieval past of Catalonia, enriching their understanding of local history.

- Barcelona
Sofia and Martín, two young people from Buenos Aires, decided to take a trip to Barcelona during their stay in Girona. After staying at CanCocollona, they took a train to the Catalan capital. In Barcelona, they were amazed by the Sagrada Familia, where a guide told them the fascinating story behind Gaudí’s famous work. They walked along the Ramblas, enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the La Boqueria market, and explored the Gothic Quarter, where they were impressed by the blend of Gothic and medieval architecture. At Park Güell, they enjoyed the panoramic views of the city and relaxed on the colorful benches designed by Gaudí. Their visit to Barcelona offered them a vibrant and dynamic experience, completing their adventure in Catalonia with an immersion in the art, history, and culture of one of Spain’s most iconic cities.
