Sant Jordi’s Day in Girona

This year we will also have a different Sant Jordi, although not confined like last year… Here we were talking about it, precisely…

Sant Jordi is a day that we love: seeing the streets full of stalls with books, roses… Breathing the good atmosphere of this very important day in Catalonia… Receive our book and our rose (or give them to ourselves)…

Today we want to encourage you to participate in the free activities that will take place in Girona during these next few days to celebrate Sant Jordi’s Day:

Reading lab: virtual activity for children and families (2-6 years)

Monday April 19

The Carles Rahola Library brings us the narration of a new story and an activity to do from home as a family, by Laura Vilar. You can participate through the Library’s social networks. More info here

Sant Jordi market

Friday April 23

We will find stalls with books and roses on the La Copa esplanade. One novelty is that the market will only have stalls from bookstores and florists in Girona, a way to promote the economic reactivation of these sectors that have been affected by the pandemic. There will also be a space reserved for authors who will sign books.

Sardanas concert and music for Cobla

Friday, April 23 at 6:00 p.m.

As every year, the Friends of the Sardana Terranostra organize, in collaboration with the Girona City Council, an audition of sardanas. This year, with the Cobla Foment del Montgrí. You can enjoy in the Plaça de las Botxes. It is necessary to book here

Workshop: accordion book of Sant Jordi (virtual)

Wednesday 21

From the Municipal School of Art they offer various virtual art workshops until August! Next Wednesday they will offer a workshop to create an accordion book, by Cesc Pujol. You can find the information and an explanatory video here

What do you think? You can consult these and more activities in the Girona Agenda!

Happy Sant Jordi’s day!
